    1. Floor or Wall Assembly — Min 4-1/2 in. thick reinforced lightweight or normal weight (100-150 pcf) concrete. Wall may also be constructed of any UL Classified Concrete Blocks*. Max area of opening is 1298 sq in. with max dimension of 36 in.

    2. Metallic Pipes — A max of four pipes, conduits or tubing to be installed within the opening. The annular space between pipes, conduits or tubing shall be min 4 in. to max 5 in. The annular space between pipes, conduit or tubing and periphery of opening shall be a min 5 in. a max 10 in. Pipe, conduit or tubing to be rigidly supported on both sides of floor or wall assembly. The following types and sizes of metallic pipes, conduits or tubing may be used.
      A. Steel Pipe — Nom 4 in. diam (or smaller) Schedule 5 (or heavier) steel pipe.
      B. Conduit — Nom 4 in. diam (or smaller) Steel Electrical metallic tubing or steel conduit.
      C. Copper Tube — Nom 4 in. diam (or smaller)Type L (or heavier) copper tube.
      D. Copper Pipe — Nom 4 in. diam (or smaller) Regular (or heavier) copper pipe.

      Of the four pipes conduits, or tubing only two of the pipes conduits or tubing shall have a nom diam greater than 2 in.

    3. Firestop System — The firestop system shall consist of the following:
      A. Forms — (Not Shown) — Used as a form to prevent leakage of fill material during installation. Forms to be a rigid sheet material, cut to fit the contour of the penetrating items and fastened to the underside of floor or both sides of wall. Forms to be removed after fill material has cured.
      B. Sealing Material — (Not Shown) — Mineral wool batt insulation firmly packed between the pipes or conduits and the forming material.
      B1. Fill, Void or Cavity Material* - Putty — (Not shown) — One layer of nom 1/4 in. thick putty pad installed around each copper tube or pipe. Putty pad width to extend throughout thickness of mortar pour (Item 3C).

      C. Fill, Void or Cavity Material* — Mortar — Min 4-1/2 in. thickness of fill material applied within the annulus, flush with top surface of floor or with both surfaces of wall. Cementitious mortar is mixed with water at a rate of 1.1 parts dry mixture to 1.0 part water by weight in accordance with the installation instructions supplied with the product.
